Women Leaders Programme Overview
Everything I do in my business is about helping people to improve their communication and when I was reading the newspaper a few days ago I came across an interesting article about the role of language in female leadership. This economic reality, coupled with a more diverse workforce such as four generations in the workplace, a growing cultural makeup (Hispanic, African-American and Asian) and different lifestyle needs (changing families, size and composition) demand some of the more feminine leadership attributes to complement the male-centered approach.
The favorable changes that have taken place in attitudes about female leaders reflect more general changes in attitudes about gender ( Brooks & Bolzendahl, 2004 ; Inglehart & Norris, 2003 ). Those who support women's leadership opportunities also endorse less traditional gender roles and approve of women's paid employment.
According to Australia's gender equality scorecard (November 2018), 17.1% of CEOs are female and along with the 39.1% who hold key management positions, many of these leaders are likely to exhibit more masculine approaches to leadership than feminine ones.
Where 63 per cent of working women believe there is pay gap, only 45 per cent of men state the same; High-Performance a number that shrinks to 39 per cent among working men aged 35 to 54. When the majority of men don't believe the gender pay gap actually exists, they won't be inclined to try to address it in their organization,†says Levy.
As a certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE), we believe an organization that values a diverse workforce and makes a commitment to partner with diverse businesses achieves better outcomes. Women have always had the capability of good leadership, and in fact represented that in many of her roles, even before she had the right to vote or work outside the home.
We suggest reasons for this rise and argue that organizations can capture the symbols of progressive social change and modernity by appointments of women in key positions. Overall, the public sees benefits to female leadership. Led by a group of female tech executives, the group is committed to attracting the best women to join the team and become mentors and role models for the next generation of talent.
